What Are The 7 Chakras?

Chakra is an Sanskrit word meaning disk or wheel. It refers to an energy center inside the human body. There are thought to be 7 main chakras which align perfectly with your spine. They run from your tailbone to the crown of your head, whirling wheels of energy where physical matter and consciousness come together.

The Thousand Petal Lotus Chakra Is located at the top of your head. This vital energy center leads you to enlightenment and a connection to yourself and others.

Located between your eyebrows, your Ajna is recognized as your center of intuition. Keeping this energy center balanced hones your intuitive nature.

This is the fifth chakra, located in your throat. It comprises your jaw, neck, thyroid, tongue and mouth. This is your source of verbal expression. When clear and working properly, your Throat Chakra allows you to profess your deepest truths.

  • Heart Chakra (Anahata)

This chakra connects your 3 spiritual chakras (the 3 just mentioned) with your 3 chakras of physical matter below. The Anahata is related to love and compassion, and connects your mind, body and spirit.

Manipura means “lustrous gem” and runs from your navel to your breastplate. This is the location of your personal power.

Your sexuality and creativity are channeled through your Sacral Chakra.

The bottom end of your spine forms a stable and secure base when your Root Chakra is balanced and clear. This leads to feelings of fearlessness and utter safety.  You can look at the chakra chart below to see the meaning of each one , as well as stones, essential  oils, yoga poses and mantras that corresponds with each chakra.
